Hey there TWCCKids Families!

September is here, which means the new school year is in full swing! Thanks for letting us invest in your kid for another year. We can’t wait for what’s ahead!

We know God has HUGE things planned for your kids as they go throughout this school year. The TWCCKids Ministry Team is excited to stand beside you and watch your kids grow and discover new things, in school, in life and in their relationship with God! Every day is an investment in the foundation they will stand on as they grow and mature.

Some days, you will be reminded why you love being a parent. While some days, it might seem like everything you are saying to your kids is going in one ear and out the other. Don’t be discouraged when you feel like this is happening. All of these days, they are foundation work.

I was recently reminded that foundation work is rarely observable. When a house is built, a solid and level foundation is critical to the overall success of the house. If the foundation is crooked or cracked, the house is in danger of falling and it must be repaired!

I love watching those House Flipping shows. Whenever the flipper would buy a house and they would notice cracks in the floors or ceilings, they would always be so upset. Those cracks meant something was wrong with the foundation. They would then need to spend a couple thousand dollars to fix something that house buyers would never notice was wrong.

This is similar to the instructions and modeling you are doing with your kids. What you invest into their foundations will hold up the rest of their lives! Some days, you might wonder if you are doing and saying the right things. Other days, you might get a glimpse of the impact you are having on your children. Whichever day you might be having, there is one thing that never changes: a house built upon the solid foundation of Jesus Christ will stand strong (Matthew 7:24-27).

We won’t get it right every day, but when we consistently invest in the foundations of our children, the foundations can still be strong!

In His Love,

Alicia “Allie” Varela

Here’s what’s coming up in TWCCKids Ministry

Sunday, October 1: Combined Service @ Central (communion, baptisms, potluck and bounce houses!)
I can’t wait for this bilingual combined service! We will be having communion and there will also be baptisms. After service, we will be having a potluck and bounce houses! We will also be setting up a volleyball net and have some other lawn games out. I really hope you are able to come hang out and fellowship! Don’t forget your chairs and something to share.

Saturday, October 28: A Night of Imagination @ Central
It’s back!! This year, we will be hosting ONE event at our Central Campus on Saturday, October 28th from 5-8pm. If you are interested in hosting a trunk or volunteering, sign up this Sunday at the information booths at either campus. This year, we have a theme for the trunks: Literary! If it’s in a book, it could be the theme of your trunk! Themes must be approved and will be claimed on a first come, first served basis. We will also start collecting candy THIS SUNDAY so throw an extra bag in your cart when you are out shopping. Our candy goal this year is 200 bags! It’s going to be so much fun! There are lots of ways to get involved, even if you don’t want to host a trunk. More information and links to register for volunteering will be available in the coming week on our TWCC Website and social media pages.

What we're teaching

ANIMATED: A 4-WEEK SERIES FROM THE OLD TESTAMENT ON THE PROPHETS

SERIES OVERVIEW:
If you’ve ever gotten a little emotional during your favorite Disney or Pixar movie, you know animation is a powerful tool to not only tell big stories, but to make us feel big feelings, too! In this four-week series, we’ll look at some stories of the Old Testament prophets as we explore some of those feelings. These stories will remind kids that God cares about our big feelings. With God, we can all feel secure, comforted, valued, and loved, even when our emotions tell us otherwise.
