God’s Work in the Dominican Republic
In August 2025, Bishop JR Coleman and Elder Michael Prichard traveled to the Dominican Republic to share the Gospel, equip pastors, and build relationships with leaders and communities across the island. What unfolded was a powerful demonstration of God’s presence, both in planned ministry and in unexpected opportunities.

Bishop JR Coleman’s Experience
Pastor Ivan Santana was our driver translator and everything In between. It was amazing as always to spend time with pastors and meet some new pastors and build some new relationships. I had the great privilege to preach at several churches ⛪️. I was also privileged to do some leadership training for a few churches and their leadership teams and about 40 pastors. We spent about 3 hours total with the owner of a restaurant that I frequent almost every day when I’m in the Dominican Republic. We were able to debate about the Christian faith and talk about Christ. I preached outdoors at Pastor Ramon’s church in the hood it was awesome. I also did leadership training at Pastor Ramon’s church as well. We got the opportunity to travel all over the Dominican Republic so that Mike could see several different areas. The Island is so beautiful. Overall God moved. I was so blessed to be used by God. I believe that the pastors and the leaders were blessed as well. 1 Corinthians 15:58

Elder Michael Prichard’s Experience
To summarize the DR trip, the planned ministry opportunities consisted of several preaching engagements with three different churches (in a building and open air), several leadership trainings for pastors from multitude of churches in the DR, and a personal testimony about deliverance from addiction, and discussion about helping people with addiction. Unplanned ministry involved sharing the gospel with an unbelieving Resturant owner, and proving funds and food for an impoverished pastor, his wife and his 6 daughters. God used the training and preaching to equip the saints in the DR. The training in particular resulted in several Q&A sessions that were fruitful. As for me, I was humbled by the wealth disparities in the DR. People are rich or poor and no in between. The poor lack so many things that we take for granted in the US such as working utilities, air conditioning, available jobs, education, grocery stores, etc…and yet, they seemed happier than many of us. Why? I believe it is because they have relationships without the kind of distraction we have here. They must depend on each other. They seemed seemed happy because they were all connected. Before I left, we passed a prison and I stopped to try and get into tour and perhaps minister. We did not have the time to wait but next time I go, our pastor guide Ivan said he would set up opportunity for me to into the prisons and drugs houses to speak and share Jesus.
Reflections on the Trip
This mission was more than a trip — it was Kingdom work in action. From training pastors to sharing Christ in unexpected conversations, God reminded us that ministry happens wherever His people are willing to be used. The pastors and leaders of the Dominican Republic were encouraged, strengthened, and reminded that they are not alone. And our team came home humbled, inspired, and eager to continue saying “yes” to God’s call.
Thank you, TWCC family, for praying, giving, and supporting the mission of the church. Every prayer and every act of generosity helps us reach the nations with the Gospel. Together, we are doing Kingdom work.
