21 Days of Prayer and Fasting

Churches across Fresno and Clovis are partnering to bring you 21 Days of Prayer and fasting from January 6 through January 26. Join us at any of the dates listed below.

Prayer

Prayer time is a key component of a fasting period. The time you would’ve spent eating is time you can be using to feed your spirit by drawing nearer to God. Fasting and prayer are a form of worship as we are sacrificing meals in order to feed our spirit and please God.

Fasting

Fasting is pushing the plate away to draw nearer to God. You don’t have to fast from every meal for multiple days. But fasting from a meal and instead taking that time you would’ve spent eating and instead praying, worshipping, alongside fasting forces us to humble ourselves and rely on God for sustenance. In the book of Joel it says ““Yet even now,” declares the Lord, “return to me with all your heart, with fasting, with weeping, and with mourning; and rend your hearts and not your garments.” Return to the Lord your God, for he is gracious and merciful, slow to anger, and abounding in steadfast love; and he relents over disaster.”

‭‭Joel‬ ‭2‬:‭12‬-‭13‬ ‭ESV‬‬

When we come before The Lord with humble hearts, with fasting and prayer it moves the heart of God.

We are hosting on January 24 at 7pm at our Olive campus.
